Colleges – an Economic Way of Earning Higher Education Abroad

Nowadays many people are willing to earn their higher education abroad but in many cases tuition fees at universities are very high. There is also a more economic way – colleges.

European countries are famous for their network of colleges providing higher education that enables graduates to seek employment in their specialties in the same manner as graduates of universities. Colleges are divided into the state and private colleges. Study programs are developed in co-operation with industrial community and circles and they meet the modern requirements and it means that colleges offer specialties that are highly sought in labor market. Certificates and diplomas granted by colleges are acknowledges on an equal basis with universities.

Such way of earning higher education is becoming more and more widespread and popular among students. Because tuition fees at colleges are 1.5 – 2 times less than at universities. Range of specialties offered by colleges is very wide – they include study programs in business, management, marketing, accounting, information technologies, secretaryship, design, tourism and hospitality management, media, computer and information technologies, etc. Studies are intended for practical use. 

Diploma is granted at the end of 2 – 2.5 years of studies. International students are taught in Russian. Study programs, matching diploma, are developed by compentent personnel for employment in engineering and management teams in the fields of electronics, manufacturing industry, constgruction, business, etc. The earned degree enables our graduates to seek employment in mid – level managerial positions. Moreover it is possible to transfer to the third course of partner’s university. 

Documents required applying for a multi – entry visa for the Republic of Latvia:

  1. A copy of contract or any other document acknowledging purpose of entry and stay in the Republic of Latvia;
  2. Documents acknowledging the planned place of residence in Latvia (provided by the LBC if it is a dormitory accommodation or guest apartment; or by any other physical or legal entity);
  3. A copy of passport or any other travel document acknowledged by the Republic of Latvia, presenting the original;
  4. Visa application form of the set form (application can be received in the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs or diplomatic or consular agencies of the Republic of Latvia abroad);  
  5. 1 color photo (35 x 45 cm);
  6. A copy of travel medical insurance policy;
  7. Confirmation of the payment of visa application fee. The visa application fee is payable submitting visa application;
  8. Documents acknowledging means of subsistence (subsistence allowance + payment of rent). The subsistence allowance should not be less than 30 LVL.
