Distance Studies – Convenient and Popular Form of Studies
The framework of distance studies (online education) comes from the European standards of higher education. The volume of acquired knowledge is 80 credits that are the same as with any other type of studies.
Distance Studies – to begin with, they are studies from a distance. You are not expected to arrive to the place of studies wasting your time and financial resources. You will be required to have a computer and access to the Internet. Distance studies are done individually and in any convenient location and time for you. You do not depend upon the timetable of lectures, study groups and other attributes of full-time studies, and you are free to determine the intensity of your studies.
All men are individual: some people require more time to study a topic, others are used to gaining knowledge independently looking into the issue thoroughly, whereas someone needs clear instructions by professors – the form of distance studies is convenient for everybody.
Distance studies involve all elements of study process: meaning, objectives, contents, system of control and assessment of results, organizational forms.
What distance studies involve?
Implementing distance education we use our accredited study programs. The only difference is the principle of information swapping. A student logs in the system of Latvia Business College using his/her own password and exchanges information with any professor of the LBC. Everything is arranged in a maximum accessible and understandable manner and you should not have to bother that there might be something you would not understand. To all intents and purposes you can always ask a question and receive a thorough and clear answer.
In the beginning of semester you will receive the study material containing the necessary information for your studies, practical exercises, self - check questions and a list of suggested reading online. At the end of semester student agrees with his/her lecturer on the date and time of examination. You will communicate with the faculty of the LBC throughout the duration of all studies: you will receive exercises, respond with your own solutions, ask questions and receive answers on a regular basis.
There will be other students taking distance education classes simultaneously with you. You will have a possibility to give the benefit of experience, ask for a piece of advice or discuss the controversial points on our local forum.
